Bonnie Trouille

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bonnie Soileau Trouille on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington. Rev. Fr. James Brady will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Bonnie, age 80, was a resident of Opelousas, LA, died peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Senior Village Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was a woman with a large heart as a caregiver for many children and several elderly family members. She was very loving and caring as she would enjoy visiting numerous family members, the sickly, and elderly loved ones. As a pastime, she spent time working in her flowers and sewing for her family. She was a devout Catholic who prayed her Rosary daily and was a member of the St. Landry Catholic Church Ladies' Altar Society. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include one son, Brent Trouille and wife, Elizabeth of Opelousas; four daughters, Jennifer Breaux and husband, Aubrey of New Iberia; Kathy Darbonne and husband, Richard of Opelousas; Julie Thibodeaux and husband, A. J. Thibodeaux, Jr. of Pecaniere; and Lisa Manuel and husband, Mitchell of Mamou; three brothers, Blackie Soileau and wife, Lana; Berchman Soileau and wife, Bea; and Jonathan Soileau, all of Opelousas; two sisters, Joan "Peggy" Kelly and husband, Pat of Houston, TX; and Donna Gerald and husband, Mike of Cade; eight grandchildren, Jill Price, Brandi Darbonne, Heidi Darbonne, Gabrielle Manuel, Lindsay Manuel, Hunter Trouille, Adam Thibodeaux, and Keith Boutte; and four great-grandchildren, Jayden Price, Alexis Boutte, Zachary Boutte, and Olivia Boutte.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene P. Trouille; her parents, Earlis Soileau and Effie Bordelon Soileau; her brother, Bryan Soileau;

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue at 8:00 a.m. on until 9:30 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening followed by the Eulogy.

Pallbearers will be Brent Trouille, Hunter Trouille, Richard Darbonne, A. J. Thibodeaux, Jr., Adam Thibodeaux, and Jonathan Soileau. Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Breaux and Mitchell Manuel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Bonnie's memory to St. Landry Catholic Church Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Stacey Mayeaux, the staff of Senior Village Nursing Home, and the staff of LA Hospice and Palliative Care for all of their care. A special note of thanks is being given to her caretakers for the last three months, Joyce Jones, Stephanie Roberts, Crystal Brown, Dominique Pickens, and Tanya Reed for all of their wonderful care and compassion which was given to Mrs. Bonnie.
