Bobbie "Granny" McRaney Penick

Opelousas- Funeral services for Ms. Bobbie McRaney Penick will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church in Opelousas, LA. Pastor Katy Glass will officiate the religious services.

The family will receive guests at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time at church.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we must say goodbye to Bobbie “Granny” Penick, who passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Opelousas General Health System. She was an active member of the LA Memorial United Methodist Church in Opelousas, and heavily involved with the LA Methodist Cursillo Movement until her death. She was in many clubs at church, such as: Bazaar, Young at Heart, was president of Women’s Club, and would also participate in cooking breakfast on Sunday mornings for the hungry. She loved working in her garden, tending to her beautiful flowers, was a talented pianist, and loved feeding all the birds that would come to her garden, especially the hummingbirds and red cardinals. Her favorite pastimes were knitting, crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Granny was a true and unwavering example of servitude and love for all.

Ms. Penick is survived by her son, Bill Penick and wife Deanie; daughter, Anne Penick McKinney; daughter in law, Sue Penick; grandchildren, Joseph "BJ" Penick, Mike McKinney, Season Brooke Garms and husband Jerry, William Troy Penick and wife Grace; great grandchildren, Mikayla McKinney, Nathaniel Muir Penick, Preston A. Garms, Mikey McKinney, Marli McKinney, Jazmine B. Garms, Isabella S. Penick and Lillia A. Penick.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Muir Penick, Sr; son, Allen "Bubba" Muir Penick, Jr and her parents, William Hugh McRaney and Troy Jean King.

Pallbearers will be Bill Penick, B.J. Penick, Mike McKinney, Troy Penick, Jerry Garms, and Preston Garms. Honorary pallbearer will be Mikey McKinney.
