Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Billy Gene Wittge at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. The Reverend and Mrs. Larry Teal will conduct the service.
Burial will be held in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mr. Wittge, age 76, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at his residence.

Billy was active in street rodding and in 1995 he was the Louisiana Street Rodder of the Year. He loved growing his pecans and satsumas. He was a very kind and generous man and enjoyed being around his family. Billy will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife, Katherine Moore Wittge, of Opelousas, La. his daughter, Dottie Wittge Hartman and her husband, Richard, of Baton Rouge, La. and his sister, Jan Wittge of Baton Rouge, La. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Joshua Hartman and his wife, Heather, of San Francisco, California and Benjamin Hartman of Baton Rouge, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Filmore and Mary Elizabeth Trahan Wittge.

Visiting will begin at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, December 30, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.
