Betty Lebas

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty LeBas will be held on Monday June 20, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. The interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Paul Bienvenu will be the celebrant of the Mass.

Mrs. LeBas, age 81, a resident of Opelousas was born on November 10, 1929 and died on June 17, 2011 at Opelousas General Health System.

She nursed professionally for over 45 years in a doctors office, emergency room, and other capacities in Opelousas and Eunice hospitals. She loved gardening and being around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her weekly bouree game with friends.

She is survived by her sons Charles Timothy Tim LeBas and wife Joe Ann of Church Point and Christopher Chris Troy LeBas also of Church Point, daughters Karen Lejeune and husband Garrett of Rosedale and Kathy Stoma and husband Keith of Baton Rouge, brother Joseph Elick Dupre of Leonville, sister Mary Gail Boudreaux of Opelousas 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents Elta Angelo Dupre and Marie Bordelon Dupre, husband Charles LeBas and a brother Nelson Dupre.

The family has requested visitation be held at the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Sunday from 11:00am until 9:00pm and will reopen on Monday from 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:30pm.
