Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Evelyn M. Baker will be held at the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs at 10:00AM on Saturday, December 29, 2007. The Rev. Chad Bolfa will conduct the service

Mrs. Baker, a resident of Krotz Springs, age 81, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She loved to cook and her family loved her cooking.

She is survived by her sons; Jack Soape of Leonville, David and his wife Louise Bowie of White Fish, Montana, John and his wife Karen Baker of Sims, Arkansas, Ronald and his wife Deborah Baker of Fort Smith, AR., Gary Don Baker of Mt. Ida, AR.,Roger and his wife Becky Baker of Mt. Ida, AR. and her step-son; Darrel Baker and his wife Jackie of Virginia, her daughters; Margaret and her husband Henry Leger of Leonville, La., Dorothy Porche of Melville, LA., and Janet and her husband Jerry Hatton of Melville LA. Debbie and her husband Royce Keith of Hot Springs, AR., Lynette and her husband Larry Coates of Krotz Springs LA., Autumn and her husband Johnny Martinez also of Krotz Springs LA and her step-daughter; Donna Ray of California her sisters; Louise Yow of College Station TX and June Robinson of Mercedes TX., and her brother; Bobby Myers of New Hall CA She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband; Delmer Clayton Baker, her parents Elmo and Clara Dycus Myers, a son; Paul Piekos, a brother; John Myers, a sister; Joanne Morris and grandchildren; Joseph Noel and Lisa Baker.

Visitation will be from 2:00PM to 10:00PM at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs and will continue on Saturday from 8:00AM until the time of service.
