Bessie Savoy

A mass of Christian Burial for Bessie Mary Savoy will be held on Monday August 8, 2011 at 10:00am at LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Fr. Albert Nunez will celebrate the mass.

Mrs. Savoy age, 86 a resident of Washington died Saturday August 6, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also loved cats.

She is survived by her son Curley Kurt Savoy, Jr. of Ocean Springs, Ms., daughters Patsy Ann Fontenot of Opelousas, Barbara Ann Fontenot of Grand Prairie, nine grandchildren Michael Fontenot, Tracey Fontenot, John Fontenot, Brandon Fontenot, Matthew Fontenot, Michelle Ortego, Ashley Savoy, Rhonda Crane and Kenneth Savoy, seventeen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband Curley Antoine Savoy, parents Adam and Lorena Carriere and a son Rawlin David Savoy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday August 7, 2011 from 1:00pm until 10:00pm and will reopen on Monday at 8:00am. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday.
