Opelousas- A visitation will be held from 1:00- 2:30 p.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. for Bertha LeBlanc Taylor, age 79, on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. The family requests a private interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park following the service. The Reverend Austin Leger will officiate.
Mrs. Taylor who was a native of Port Barre and resident of Washington, died at 12:40 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2009 at a Lafayette hospital.
Survivors include her son, Steven C. Taylor of New York City, N.Y.; daughter, Susie Taylor Knight of Baton Rouge; brothers, Joe Ed LeBlanc of Lottie and Phillip Butch LeBlanc of Port Barre; sister, Johnnie Dupuis of Port Barre; two grandchildren, Briggs and Alex Knight and a great grandchild, Hays Taylor Knight.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Taylor; parents, John and Josephine LeBlanc; two sisters, Ruth Saizan and Neva LeBlanc.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in Ms. Taylor name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Lafayette, LA 70503, 337-232-1234
