Bertha Doiron

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bertha Schexnayder Doiron on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. The Reverend Michael DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery. Visiting at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m.

Ms. Doiron, who was born in Bayou Rouge, LA on January 8, 1932 to Severin and Edna Mae Fontenot Schexnayder, died on Monday, November 16, 2020 at her residence.

Bertha and husband Roger enjoyed time spent together at VFW and American Legion events and outings. They also enjoyed hunting and fishing together. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Bertha is survived by her brother, Mason Schexnayder of Baker, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger L. Doiron; her parents, Severin Schexnayder and Edna Mae Fontenot Schexnayder; her sister, Mary Lee Schexnayder Dupre and her grandparents, Ursin Schexnayder and Estelle Leger Schexnayder. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bertha’s pallbearers will be Paul Taylor, Scotty Ray, Doug Johnson, Connor Johnson, Carroll Snyder, and Richard Ray, Jr.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Stacey Mayeaux and his staff as well as the staff of Heart of Hospice.
