Bernita "Bonnie" Parks

Opelousas - Funeral services for Bernita "Bonnie" Dupre Parks will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.  Brother Eddie Douglas will conduct the services.  Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Prairie Ronde, La.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bernita "Bonnie" Dupre Parks, age 86, on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Bonnie enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, going to church and reading.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.  Bonnie was a loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Roman Daire, Jr. and wife, Vicki of Opelousas, La.; her daughters, Kendra Emmons and husband, Bill of Clearwater, Becky Doucet of Opelousas, La. and her brother, Gus Dupre and wife, Madeline of Opelousas, La.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Roman Daire, Sr.; her second husband, George Edward Parks; her son, Jimmy Daire; her parents, Talbort Dupre and Lelma Ardoin Dupre; her daughters, Carol Daire Mancil, Deborah "Debbie" Fontenot and Charlotte Kennedy; her sister, Jackie Fontenot and her brothers, Larry Dupre and Charlie Dupre.

Pallbearers will be Nick Daire, Jamie Mancil, Jonathon Mancil, Chuck Doucet, Judd Kennedy and Bill Emmons.
