Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Benny Joseph Andrepont, age 82, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Reverend Gregory Simien, of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral service.
Mr. Andrepont, a resident of Opelousas, died on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System after a lengthy illness.
Benny supported his family by working at Danel Lumber Company in Opelousas, La. He was a self-employed television repairman at LeBoeuf Record Shop and Walker Furniture. Benny continued repairing televisions and working at Opelousas Radio until his retirement due to a stroke in 2003.
Benny was an avid bowler at Yambilee Lanes in Opelousas and Lafayette Lanes for many years. He was avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sports, especially the New Orleans Saints, LSU Football and LSU Baseball. He had a love for trivia, especially reading and learning about history which gave him enjoyment with his many friends and acquaintances. Benny will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Elizabeth Page Andrepont, of Opelousas, LA; his two sons, Dean Andrepont and wife, Hedy, of Scott, LA; Scott Andrepont and wife, Becky, of Opelousas, LA; his three daughters, Judy Andrepont; Jackie Andrepont Thibodeaux and husband, Tony and Janet Andrepont Miller and husband, Terry, all of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Benny was called to join his parents, Joseph Palmas Andrepont and the former Eveltine Wedlock; two brothers, Albert Andrepont and wife, Tessie; Lee Andrepont and one sister, Essie Prejean.
Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with scripture readings and words of comfort delivered by Dr. Perry Hubbs, from the First Baptist Church of Opelousas, at 7:30 p.m.
