Belinda June Sanders Hill

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Belinda June Hill, age 73, on Monday, February 26, 2024.  She was a cherished soul who graced this world with love and kindness. Belinda was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, on October 16, 1950.  She touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services for Belinda will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA.  Brother Chad Norman will conduct the service. 

Pallbearers will be Noah Hill, Parker Muse, Cole Sanders, Cody Sanders, Dustin Sanders, and Bryce Sanders. Elias Hill will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held in the church beginning on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will continue Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Opelousas from 9:00 AM until service time.

Belinda found joy in the company of her family and friends.  She enjoyed gardening, loved horses and was a truly amazing mother.  She was a proud grandmother who homeschooled four of her grandchildren.

Belinda's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving loved ones.   She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe Hill; her mother, Helen June Coffey Sanders; as well as her children: Joseph Dewayne Hill (Stephanie Dupre Hill) and Justin Derek Hill (Bridget Nealy Hill); her brothers, Brian Sanders (Darla Crow Sanders), John Michael Sanders (Rachel Dupre Sanders), David Mitchell Sanders (Sheree Barker Sanders); along with her sisters: Diana Ratcliff (David), Beverly Sanders, Dolores Sanders and Denise Kimball (Toby). Belinda's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Noah Abey Hill, Bethany Jade Hill, Elizabeth Anne Hill, Mary Alaina Hill, Piper Marie Hill, and Elias Archer Hill.

She was preceded in death by her father, John A. Sanders.
