Beatrice Schexsnayder

Palmetto - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Beatrice Hebert Schexsnayder at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in the St. Thomas Chapel in Palmetto, LA. Reverend James Nguyen will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Rite of Committal will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery.

Mrs. Schexsnayder, age 90, a resident of Palmetto, LA, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at her residence.

She raised 8 children and was the "Quintessential Matriarch" of her family. She loved visiting and always had a hot cup of coffee ready for them.

She is survived by her sons, James Robert Schexsnayder and wife, Natalie, of Oceanside, CA; Paul Schexsnayder and wife, Sybil, of Port Barre, LA; Lynn Schexsnayder and wife, Cheryl, of Palmetto, LA; her daughters, Dora S. Cooper and husband, Thomas, of Slaughter, LA; Shirley S. Deville of Palmetto, LA; Beatrice's brother, J.C. Hebert, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; her sisters, Mary Jane H. Kinchen, Velma Terese H. Edgens and Gladys Dupont. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aurelian Schexsnayder, Sr.; her parents, Theodule Hebert, Sr. and Dora Thibodeaux Hebert; her sons, Aurelian Schexsnayder, Jr., Laurence Joseph Schexsnayder, Craig Schexsnayder and wife, Candy Bihm Schexsnayder.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, March 16, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until 1:00 p.m., then transfer to church for Mass.. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
