Washington A Mass of Christian Burial for Beatrice J. Joubert the former, Marie Beatrice Jones, age 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, followed by interment in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Albert Nunez will be the celebrant of the Mass.
Mrs. Joubert, who was a native of Ville Platte and a resident of Opelousas, died at Opelousas General Health System on Friday, March 18, 2011.
Beatrice was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church Choir she was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2483 and the Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Post 209. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was dearly loved by her family.
Survivors include her son, James Larry Joubert, and wife, Germaine, of Shreveport her daughter, Carolyn J. Watkins and special friend, Lee Johnson, of Opelousas her brother, Ervin Lafleur and wife, Mary, of Bayou Chicot. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Nathan Joubert her parents, Easton Jones and Mattie Delafosse Lafleur her brothers, Henry Jones, Louis Jones her sisters, Mary Belle Collier, Hester Lafleur, Elday Delafosse, Bridget Dupre and Irene Ortego.
Visiting hours will be observed in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will reopen on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
