Mrs. James Murrell Hicks Sr.

Funeral service will held at Big Cane Baptist Church at 11 AM Monday July 9, 2007 in Morrow, La for Mrs. James Murrell Hicks Sr. the former Beatrice Chelette age 91 of Big Cane, La.. Mrs. Beatrice died July 6, 2007 at Opelousas General Health System.

Bro. Brian Johnston will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Beatrice is survived by five sons James Jim Murrell Hicks Jr.and his wife Shirley of Denham Springs, La., Charles Leon Hicks and his wife Virginia of Denham Springs, La., John Dewy Hicks and his wife Norma of Big Cane, La., Milburn Buddy Lloyd Hicks and his wife Betty of Plaucheville, La., and Felix Louis Hicks and his wife Carol of Baton Rouge, La., five daughters Betty H. Dupre and her husband Harvey of Kingston Springs, Tn., Marie H. Soileau of Walker, La., Nora H. Wise and her husband Winston of Mora, La., Charlotte H. Taylor and her husband Donald of Prairieville, La., and Beatrice H. Chatelain and her husband Ivan of Baton Rouge, La. One sister Hazel McDonald of Bunkie, La. 30 grandchildren 40 great grandchildren 6 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Beatrice Hicks is preceded in death by her husband James Murrell Hicks Sr and one son Donald Douglas Hicks, her parents Felix and Philemon Bordelon Chelette, three sisters and five brothers.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 PM. Sunday July 8, 2007 until 10 PM. at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home. Reopen Monday at 8:30 AM. Monday July 9, 2007 at the Big Cane Baptist Church in Morrow, La. until time of service.
