Bathilda Vigil

Lawtell - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bathilda Vigil at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Reverend James Brady will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Rite of Committal will be held at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Vigil, age 80, a resident of Lawtell, LA, died on Monday, May 4, 2015, at her granddaughter's residence in Patterson, LA.

Bathilda enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Vigil, of Morgan City, LA; her daughters, Jennifer Cook of Morgan City, LA and Pamela Kral of Sarasota, FL. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Vigil; her parents, Adam and Elia Bourgeois; her brothers, Calvin Bourgeois, Floyd Bourgeois, Donald Bourgeois, Raleigh Bourgeois; her sisters, Nadine Savoy, Florence Meche and her grandchildren, Michael Kral, Lance Doucet and Desiree Robinson.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Vigil, Chad Bullara, Austin Vercher, Cain Naquin, Alec Robinson and Harris Piciolla.
