Barbara Jarreau

Melville - Funeral services will be held for Barbara "Bobbi" Bourgeois Jarreau, age 78, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Melville with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be held at the Melville Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend James Nguyen will officiate the service.

Mrs. Jarreau passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at her home in Melville.

Bobbi loved crocheting and enjoyed being outdoors. She loved feeding the birds and squirrels at her home where she enjoyed caring for her plants and flower beds. Bobbi was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Houston Jarreau, Jr.; her sons, Kim Jarreau and wife, Linda; Randy Jarreau and wife, Robin; her daughter, Karen Jarreau and her sisters, Joyce Stanley and Sylvia Ann Bourgeois. She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Theodile Zerangue Bourgeois; her son, Joseph Houston Jarreau, III; her brothers, E.J. and Ruby Bourgeois and her sisters, Margie Bourgeois, Edwina "Putt" Schexnayder and an infant sister.
