A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Augustine "Pete" Circello, Jr. at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at St. John Catholic Church in Melville. The Reverend Sonny Brown will celebrate the Mass. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. United States Air Force honors will be rendered at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Melville immediately following the Mass.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Augustine Circello, Jr., age 84, on Thursday, March 25, 2021. He died peacefully at home with his family and friends.
Augustine served his country proudly for eight years in the United States Air Force. He worked offshore for over 20 years as a roustabout and worked maintenance for Union Pacific for 15 years. He was an avid LSU fan. He had a 2005 Chevy truck that he just adored and was always his project. He loved surrounding himself with his beloved family and he was so proud of his entire family. Augustine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by wife of 39 years, Mary Henry Circello; his sons, Peter Circello and wife, Melissa, (who was like a daughter to him), Augustine Circello, III and wife, Christine, Joseph LeJeune and wife, Misty; his daughters, Katrina Jarreau and husband, Greg, Melinda Pointer and husband, Jamie, Melania Callier and husband, Owen; his brother, Carl Joseph Circello and his sisters, Annette Fitzgerald and husband, Gary and Ann Wyatt. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Alyx Circello and Josh LeBouf, Tyler Holt Circello, Ryleigh Circello, Halie Cormier and husband, Cody, Tori Richard, Chase Circello, Colin Circello, Abigail Circello, Corey Circello, Coby Ducote and wife, Ashley, David Ducote and wife, Kristin, Joshua Viola, Mallory Fandal and husband, Austin, Brody Pointer and wife, Sydney, Lane LeJeune, Hunter LeJeune and Sadie, Ryan Pointer, Jase LeJeune, Kysen LeJeune, Jason Payton and wife, Mara and his great-grandchildren, Eloise Jayne, Gavin, Ella, Blair, Anniston, James, Colt, Kelsie, Connor, Emma, Karlee, Kinzlie, Anna Grace, Brianna, Brogan, Nash, Cannon, Eli, Abel and his Godchild, Justin Savoie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine Circello, Sr. and Dessie Anderson Circello; his daughter, Melissa Payton; his brother, Benny Wayne Circello; his grandson, Luke Ducote and his great-granddaughter, Peyton Ducote.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Melville. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until Mass time.
Pallbearers will be Greg Jarreau, Tyler Holt Circello, Justin Savoie, Hunter LeJeune, David Ducote and Coby Ducote. Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin Cormier, Gary Fitzgerald, Little Gary Fitzgerald, Ryan Pointer, Chase Circello and Colin Circello.
