Bayou Rouge, La. Services for Arthur Red Phillips, age 91, will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge, La., followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Mark Boudreaux, Reverend Leon Fontenot and Reverend Dallas Schuff will conduct the services.
Mr. Phillips, a resident of Bayou Rouge, La., passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at his residence.
Arthur served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Phillips was a carpenter by trade and in his free time he loved to hunt and fish. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mathilda Dupuis Phillips of Palmetto, La. his sons, George Ray Phillips and wife, Eleanor, of Bayou Rouge, La. Louvie L.J. Phillips and wife, Debbie, of Bayou Rouge, La. his daughter, Lillian Doris Boudreaux and husband, Ursin, of Denton, Texas his brother, Preston Phillips of Port Arthur, Texas and 6 grandchildren, Mark Boudreaux, Phillip Boudreaux, Reba Deshotels, Dan Phillips, Tonya Pitcher and Levi Phillips. He is also survived by 12 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hattie Phillips his brothers, Roy Phillips, Tom Phillips, Luther Phillips his sisters, Pearl Lebouf, Elvie Waites, Lillian Soileau and his sisterinlaw, Dolly Phillips.
Visiting hours will be observed in the First Pentecostal Church of Bayou Rouge 1818 La. 360, Palmetto, La. 71358 on Friday, February 11, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
