Arthur Lacassin

December 5, 1942 — May 26, 2020

Arthur "Douglas" Lacassin, 77, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on May 26, 2020 at his home in Missouri City, TX. Doug was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully at approximately 4:44 am of natural causes. He entered this world on December 5, 1942 in Krotz Springs, LA, born to Louis and Elmire Lacassin.

Doug is survived by his 2 children - daughter Kim Lacassin Gaulke (husband Gernot) of Missouri City, TX and his son Michael "Mike" Shane Lacassin of Krotz Springs, LA. Surviving siblings include Audrey Marie Halphan, Mary "Acklin" Doucette, Alfred Jewles Lacassin, Mary "Margaret" Credeur, David "Magoo" Lacassin and Gerard Lacassin Sr.. Doug also has 9 Grandchildren. Those preceding him in death are his parents; Louis Lacassin, Sr. and Elmire Angelle Lacassin, his sibilings: James Grady Lacassin, Louis Lacassin, Jr., Glenn Joseph Lacassin, Harold Frances Lacassin and John "Johnny" Edward Lacassin.

Doug was a talented craftsman and enjoyed home building, cabinetry, butcher blocks and other wood crafts. He was an avid hunter enjoying all levels of hunting - even exotics! His pride and joy were the two log cabins he built by hand from the ground up. Doug was a hard worker all of his life and often made trips to Texas to spend time with his grandsons teaching them his crafts such as hunting, fishing and his mushroom hobby. Doug always taught to only kill what you can eat and took great joy in teaching the proper cleaning, preparing and cooking the fruits of the hunt. In his later years Doug came to enjoy watching old westerns, The Animal Channel as well as The History Channel. Doug also loved his Siberian Husky, Sasha. She seldom left his side and now seems to spend her time looking for him to slip her a treat. Doug also enjoyed his fruit... bananas, oranges, berries, ice cream, chocolate, tar-black coffee (his absolute favorite) and everything else a diabetic shouldn't consume! He was a well-loved man and lived his life priding himself on having a full head of hair and his dazzling smile complete with all his original teeth!
