Funeral services for Archie DeJean will be held on Friday January 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Father Daniel Picard will conduct the services. Mr. DeJean a native and resident of Plaquemine Point, La. was born on December 23, 1911 and died on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at Opelousas General Health System.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Beaugh DeJean, of seventy years of Plaquemine Point, La.; two sons; Patrick DeJean and wife, Gwendolyn, of Washington, La. and Jude DeJean and wife, Cathy, of Maynardville, Tennessee, 4 grandchildren; Charlotte Ann DeJean and husband Michael Croke of McLean, Virginia, William B. DeJean of Washington, La., Yvette DeJean Yost and husband Steven of Coconut Creek, Florida, Miki DeJean of Atlanta, Georgia and 2 great grandchildren; Patrick H. Croke and Nicholas P. DeJean.
Mr. Dejean is preceded in death by his parents; William Clay DeJean and Virginia St. Cyr DeJean and nine siblings.
He was the retired manager of the Lewisburg-Bellevue Water System. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council Number 5532 of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will re-open on Friday, January 30, 2009, at 8:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
