September 13, 1921 — August 9, 2017

Washington - Graveside services for Mr. Anthony Savant Pierrel will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside prayers will be offered by Mrs. Catherine Palmyre Bailey Dupre of Opelousas, Louisiana.

Bud Pierrel, age 95, originally from Washington, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday August 9, 2017, in Spring, Texas, where he was residing near his son and grandchildren. He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now ULL) in Lafayette and briefly worked for the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers before enlisting in the Navy during World War II where he served in the Pacific as a 1st Lieutenant. After the war he joined General Electric and then Louisiana Power and Light after his return to Louisiana as a result of family circumstances. He enjoyed hunting a good deal of his life, but his greatest interests revolved around his family. Not a day went by that he did not ask about his family or spend time with them. His devotion to family was an inspiration to many and he will be truly missed.

Bud is survived by his son, John Pierrel and wife Susan of Conroe, Texas; daughter in law Marsha Baumann of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Nicholas Pierrel and wife Laurie of Spring, Texas, Thomas Pierrel and wife Jessica of Spring, Texas, and Kinsey Pierrel Adkins and husband Dustin of Houston, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Marshall, Leah, Madeline and Jonah of Spring, Texas.

Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Kinsey Pierrel; and their eldest son, Stephen Pierrel; and his parents, Anthony Sebastian Pierrel and Thelma Leigh Savant Pierrel; and his sister, Mrs. Mary Catherine Pierrel Bailey; and a great-grandson, Noah Patrick Pierrel.

Family and friends are invited to sign and view the online guestbook at www.lafondardoin.com.
