A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Anthony Tony Morrow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and interment will be held in Bellevue Memorial Park. The Very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. Derouen will celebrate the Mass.
Mr. Morrow, a resident of Opelousas, LA, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Opelousas General Health System.
Tony served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the State of Louisiana Levee Board for over 40 years. Tony loved vegetable gardening and caring for his yard. He loved watching things grow. Tony had a strong love for his family, especially his grandchildren. Tony will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Tony is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Morrow. They were joined in holy matrimony in 1959 and this year would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his sons, Jimmy Dwayne Morrow and wife, Michelle; Ray Anthony Morrow and wife, Carla; David Morrow and wife, Linda; his sisters-in-law, Christine Morrow and Loretta Morrow; his grandchildren, Jaci Morrow Collins and Teddy; Jenna Morrow Fontenot and Whitney; Brandon Fontenot and Hailey; Tyler Lavergne and Erin; Kyle Nicholas Morrow and Karri; Kevin Daniel Morrow and Wesleigh; Sarah McKalyn Morrow and fiancé, Ross; Caitlin McKenzie Morrow; Lindsay Claire Morrow and his great-grandchildren, Raina, Callie, Gracie, Drew, Levi, Trentin, Calib, Aydin, Coltin, Rowan and James.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Morrow and Lena Collette Morrow Denicola; his step-father, Joe Denicola; his brothers, Sal Morrow, Ciro Morrow; his infant grandson, Jason Dwayne Morrow; his first cousin, Tony J. Scrappy Morrow and wife, Dora; and his lifelong friend, Ed Kimble.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Morrow, Ray Morrow, David Morrow, Kyle Morrow, Kevin Morrow and Tyler Lavergne. Honorary pallbearers will be Sal Morrow, Jr. and Brandon Fontenot.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of Tri-Community Nursing Home, his special friends, Melanie, Bobby Guillory and Rennotta Dupre, for their love, kindness, care and support.
Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, April 15, 2019, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Tuesday, April 16, 2019, visitation will continue from at 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed on Monday evening at 6:30 PM by Deacon Jerome Collins.
