Anthony Dicapo

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony Charles DiCapo, affectionately known as "Man" or "Tony" will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020, in the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, LA. Rite of Committal and interment will be held at St. John Catholic Church Cemetery in Melville.  Father Michael DeBlanc will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. DiCapo, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Anthony was a kind, loving and giving man.  He never knew a stranger.  He was an active member of Louisiana Farm Bureau and the Cattleman's Association. For 52 years he was a proud member of the Red River Atchafalaya Bayou Bouef Levee Board.  Anthony's passion was raising huge gardens and giving it all away.  He loved gardening, tending his cows and hogs, hunting, fishing, and most of all loving and providing for his family.  He is and always will be greatly missed, and UNFORGETTABLE.  Also, he will be THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE DICAPO FAMILY.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Leona Darbonne DiCapo of Melville, La.; his son, Paul DiCapo and wife, Katherine of Rosa, La.; his daughters, Sharon DiCapo Gueho and husband, Gerald of Livonia, La., Catherine (TB) Jameson and husband, Jimmy of Deville, La., Antoinette (Toni) Alston and husband, Chops of Port Barre, La. and Christy DiCapo and husband, Chad Lafleur of Pecaniere, La. and his sister, Christina Morrow of Melville, La.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Catherine Roppolo DiCapo; his brothers, Paul DiCapo and Nicky DiCapo; his son, Anthony C. DiCapo; his son-in-law, Joseph B. LeBouef, Jr. and granddaughter, Carrie Alston.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m.  The funeral home will reopen on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Keith Angona, Jay Artall, Kyle Thibodeaux, Joshua LeBouef, Nicholas Polotzola and Caleb Polotzola.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jasper Artall, Herbert Thomasson, Charles Thomasson, Ralph Artall, Scott Johnson and Jeffery Artall.

Due to the outbreak and growth of COVID-19, the family kindly requests that masks be worn while visiting the funeral home and no hugging or kissing Mrs. Leona DiCapo.
