Anseline Mary Mistric Briley

Opelousas-Funeral services for Anseline Mary Mistric Briley will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and interment will be in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the services.

Anseline, age 85, was a native and a longtime resident of Opelousas, Louisiana. She was currently residing in Vidor, Texas.  She passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

She was a caregiver for the elderly for many years.  She was a devout Catholic and a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and tending to her plants.  She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Robin E. Briley Reeves and husband, Phillip of Vidor, TX; two grandchildren, Yolanda Vallery and husband, Jonathon Ashy; and Patricia Walter; and six great-grandchildren, Makenzie Walter, Daven Walter, Hadlee Walter, Greyson Guidry, Destiny Ashy, and Drake Ashy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence Marie Robin Mistric and Dieu Dona “D.J.” Mistric; and her brother, Daniel Mistric, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
