Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. for Annie Wise Dupre Jagneaux on Monday, November 2, 2020, at St. Landry Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will take place in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery. Msgr. Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass. The Readers for the Mass will be Ava Quebedeaux, Paula Darbonne, and Samantha Dailey.
Mrs. Annie, age 92, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church and a former member of the Ladies' Altar Society at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
Annie retired after working many years as a Salesperson for Brown's Furniture. She earned "Top Sales Lady" numerous times while working at Olinde's Furniture. She loved being around her family, especially the grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and table games as a pastime. She was excited to participate in all the competitive games and activities while at the nursing home. She loved the Easter tradition of pocking eggs with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by son, Joseph Dale Jagneaux and fiancé, Carolina Castaneda of Lake Charles; daughters, Marjorie Quebedeaux of Opelousas; Cheryl Bergeron and husband, James of Opelousas;. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keith Quebedeaux and wife, Dana; Stephen Quebedeaux and Michelle Sylvester; Paula Darbonne and husband, Shawn; Courtney Jagneaux Oertel and husband, Jim; Samantha Dailey and husband, Corey; and Nicholas Leger and wife, Jamie; her great-grandchildren, Kyle Quebedeaux and fiance', Kerry Disotell; Jacob Quebedeaux, Amanda Foret, Seth Darbonne and wife, Lonnie; Austin Darbonne, Henry Oertel, Charles Anthony Quebedeaux II, Ava Michelle Quebedeaux, Blaze Leger, and Greyson Leger; great-great-grandchildren, Abel Darbonne, and Reid Foret; nephew, Johnny Pellerin; and a special family friend, Sharleen Gladys Meyers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Austin J. Jagneaux; her parents, Frank Martin Dupre and Beatrice Joubert Dupre; infant brother, Hurling Dupre; sister, Verna Pellerin; and nephew, Ray Pellerin.
Pallbearers will be Keith Quebedeaux, Stephen Quebedeaux, Austin James Darbonne, Kyle Quebedeaux, Jacob Quebedeaux, Charles Quebedeaux I, and Charles "Charlie" Quebedeaux II.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary being prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.
