Anna Soileau

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Anna "Lou" Soileau at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015, in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow at the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas, LA. Reverend James Brady will celebrate the Mass.

Mrs. Soileau, age 86, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Opelousas General Health System.

Anna loved to sew for herself and her grandchildren. She was a very soft spoken person and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being outdoors and life in general. She enjoyed reading, camping with her husband, planting flowers and bird watching. Anna will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raeburk Soileau, of Opelousas, LA; her daughters, Bonnie Soileau Evans and husband, Ray, of Opelousas, LA; Paula Soileau Badzinski and husband, Brian, of Colorado Springs, CO; her sisters, Hazel Soileau, of Alabama; Anna Belle Catiore and husband, Aswell, of Picayune, MS and Ethel Simmons of Covington, LA. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Kristine Badzinski Impson and husband, Greg; Angella Badzinski and 3 great-grandchildren, Adriana Flores DeLeon, Dominic Flores DeLeon and Landon Impson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Lucille Fontenot; her brother, Harrison Fontenot and her sister, Rose Marie Fontenot.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday by Deacon Bill Pollingue.
