Anna Smith

A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Ruth Landry Smith will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2014 at 10:00am at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau.Fr. James Lambert will celebrate the Mass. The Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, age 79, a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday February 2, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System. She was a homemaker and a retired CNA. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald Gene Smith and wife Marlene of Sunset and Russell Keith Smith and wife Amy of Wentzville, MO, daughter, Ruby Ann Smith Mayeux and husband Paul of Orange, TX, sisters, Melba Bobbie Landry Smith of Kinder, Bertha Landry Cloward of Opelousas, and eleven grandchildren, Jason Smith, Emily Smith, Zane Smith, Adam Smith, Sarah Mayeux, Nick Mayeux, Ashley Mayeux, Luke Mayeux, Joseph Mayeux, John Mayeux, Isabella Mayeux and 4 great grandchildren, Delaney Smith, Reese Smith, Adam DuboisMayeux and Bentley Vice Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gene Smith, father, Ashley Landry, mother, Euphrasie Robin Landry, brothers, Ivan Landry, Carroll Landry and Russell Landry and sisters, Effie Landry Lutiker, Rusella Landry, Gertrude Landry Hyde and Patsy Landry Richard, two grandchildren, Kelly Nicole Smith and Michael Brendan Mayeux.

The family has requested visitation be held on Monday from 2:00pm until 10:00pm and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00am until time of services. A rosary will be prayed on Monday at 7:00pm and will be led by her soninlaw, Paul Mayeux.

Pallbearers will be Zane Smith, Jason Smith, Adam Smith, Nick Mayeux, Luke Mayeux and David Smith. The readings will be done by Paul Mayeux. The Gift bearers will be Joseph Mayeux, John Mayeux and Isabella Mayeux.
Musical selections will be by Ron Moreau and Phyllis Semar.
