Ann Veillon

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial will held for Ann Q. Veillon, age 79, on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La. followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Ann, who was a resident of Opelousas, La., died at Opelousas General Health System on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 9:00 p.m.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society. She was also a wonderful mother who dedicated her life caring for her loving family.

She is survived her sons, Gregory J. Veillon of Opelousas, La. Glenn J. Veillon and wife, Karen, of Sunset, La. Neal F. Veillon and wife, Amy, of Brusly, La. her daughters, Karen V. Merritt and husband, Richard, of Opelousas, La. Connie V. Guillory of Arlington, Texas her brothers, Thiel Quebedeaux and wife, Jessie Lee, of New Iberia, La. Allen Quebedeaux and wife, Carolyn, of Sunset, La. and her sister, Rita Richard and husband, Clarence, of Morgan City, La. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Brandon, Jared, Valerie, Shelby Joel, Derek and Tyler and 2 greatgrandchildren, Peyton and Braelon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Veillon her parents, Francois and Luce Quebedeaux her sister, Laura Mae Courville her brother, Joel Quebedeaux and her greatgrandchild, Hayden Paul Comeaux.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Veillon, Glenn Veillon, Neal Veillon, Mark Brown, Richard Merritt, Burton Quebedeaux and honorary pallbearer, Ronald Quebedeaux. Gift bearers will be Brandon Veillon, Jacob Veillon and Tyler Comeaux. Readers will be Elaine Landry, Valerie Merritt and Claire Landry.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 until service time. A rosary will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
