Washington - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ann Trouille Tate, age 82, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, LA. Her nephew, Reverend Allen Trouille, will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Lectors will be her granddaughters, Olivia Muller and Brooke Peterson. Gift bearers will be her granddaughters, Celina Guidry, Kimberly Thornell, Paige Tate, Allie Ryan and Rhea Tate.
Mrs. Tate, a resident of Washington, LA, died on Monday, May 16, 2016, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.
Ann worked in the banking business for over 40 years. She was a parishioner and active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and the Ladies Alter Society. The members of her church choir will provide the music for the mass in her honor.
Ann was a very active, vivacious and beautiful woman. She mostly enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren by attending their sporting and school events. She was their biggest fan in life in its entirety. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edwin "Red" Tate of Washington, LA; her sons, Ted Tate and wife, Charlotte, of Port Barre, LA.; Tommy Tate and wife, Christy, of Scott, LA; Gary Tate and wife, Lynne, of Port Barre, LA; Jeff Tate and wife, Christina, of Opelousas, LA; her daughter, Joni Tate Muller and husband, Scotty, of Opelousas, LA; her brother, Raynard Trouille of Washington, LA; her sister, Joy Trouille Pitre of Washington, LA. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leola Fontenot Trouille; her sister, Ollie Trouille Vidrine and her brothers, Joseph Gerald Trouille, Alvin Trouille and Donner Trouille.
Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The funeral home will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 until time of services.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Tate, Jared Tate, Josh Tate, Jake Tate, Travis Tate, Graham Muller, Cameron Muller and Justin Tate.
The family would like to give thanks for the great care and compassion that was given to her by the nuns and staff at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home and to her doctor and nephew, Dr. Richard Tate, M.D., for his compassion and wonderful care that he gave her.
