Opelousas - A Celebration of Life Service for Amy Marie Pellissier Granger will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Visitation with family and friends will begin at 8:30 a.m.  A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.  Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the rosary and the service.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amy Marie Pellissier Granger, age 55, on December 22, 2021.

Amy was born in Church Point, Louisiana and grew up in Opelousas, La.  She also lived in Waldorf, Maryland and Albuquerque, New Mexico for most of her adult life.  She loved teaching and education.  Her lifetime dream was to move to California to be by the beach and Disneyland and this is exactly what she did.  She loved her daughter with all her heart.  Amy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by daughter, Jennifer Reed; her mother, Inez Barousse Pellissier; her sister, Denise Dupuis and her brother, David Pellissier and his wife, Janice.  She is also survived by her nephews, Hanad Pellissier, Harun Pellissier, Aaron Dupuis and wife, Camille, her nieces, Ebyan Pellissier and Katherine Richard and her husband, Paul.  She is also survived by her great-nieces, Natalie Richard and Avery Richard and her great-nephew, and Daniel Richard along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Mervine Pellissier; her maternal grandparents, Pete and Lunah Barousse; her paternal grandparents, Claude and Elodie Pellissier; her cousin, Jason Wimberly and several aunts and uncles.
