Prairie Ronde - A Mass of Christian Burial for Amy Brown Dupre will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde, LA. Rite of Committal will take place at the Sacred Heart Church Mausoleum. The Reverends Austin Leger and Conley Bertrand will concelebrate the mass.
Mrs. Dupre, age 85, a life-long resident of Prairie Ronde, died on Friday, November 20, 2015, at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital.
Amy was parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde for her entire life. Her greatest joy was her family and her Catholic faith. She especially loved hosting a Christmas Eve Party for her relatives for 50 years. She was devoted to praying her daily Rosary and attending First Friday Masses. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
Her survivors include her daughters, Gwen Dupre Miller and husband Mark of Prairie Ronde, Debbie Dupre Quigley and husband Bill of New Orleans, sister, Bonnie Brown Carrier and husband Marvin of Prairie Ronde; her 6 grandchildren, Patrick Quigley and spouse, Rob Pecola; Joseph Quigley; Aaron Miller and spouse, Rene; Amy Grace Miller; Andree Miller; Andrew Miller and spouse, Kylie and 5 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lucas and Emily Miller, Aubrey and Abigail Miller; her first cousins, Carol Brown, Linda Carrier and Delores Fontenot; her nephews, Rick and Ray Carrier; her nieces, Rainy Broussard, Rhonda French and Renee Hollier.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Buren Dupre and her parents, Wiltz and Girsey Brown.
The family would like to give special thanks to Gillian Stelly, her caregiver for many years, Patsy Dupre, Dr. Alemany, Sarah, Connie and Kristan, and also the staff at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital , Louisiana Hospice and St. Landry Home Care.
The family has requested visitation be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and then from 8:00 a.m. until time of departure for the service on Monday, November 23, 2015. A rosary will be prayed on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
