Allen Soileau

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Allen Soileau, age 87, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA with visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m. Reverend James Brady will conduct the service. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Catherine Church Cemetery in Rosa, LA.

Mr. Soileau, a native and former resident of Rosa, LA, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville, LA.

Allen proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He served in the Pacific on the U.S.S. General J.C. Breckinridge.

He was a chemical process operator at British Petroleum prior to his retirement. He loved spending days on end fishing in his boat after his retirement. Allen had been in the J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home in Arnaudville for the past 3 years due to his declining health. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Mark Soileau and wife, Donna, of Thibodaux, LA; Charles Soileau of Belle Chase, LA; Liz Leger of Katy, TX; his sister, Irene Doucet of Plaisance, LA and his brother, Floyd Soileau and wife, Carla, of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin Soileau and wife, Sarah, of Harahan, LA; Elliot Leger of Katy, TX; Lloyd Paul Boudreaux of Belle Chase, LA and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Landry Soileau; his parents, Emede and Artile Soileau; his sons, Johnny Soileau, Albert James Mallett; his sisters, Rita Schwartzenburg; Thelma Payton; Pat Gremillion and his brothers, Nolan Soileau and Shirley Soileau.
