Allen K. Smith, III

Allen K. Smith, III, age 91, of Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Opelousas General Health System. 

Allen served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Major. 

He was a man of many passions, finding solace in the simple joys of fishing and hunting. His love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him.

He is survived by his sisters, Marion Van Brunt and Anita Sawyer. Allen's memory will be cherished by five nieces, three nephews, and special friends, Sandra Titard, Byron Briggs, Blaire Briggs and Brett Briggs.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Allen K. Smith, II and Isabell Bull Smith, as well as his brother, David Norris Smith.

Throughout his life, Allen touched the hearts of those around him with his kindness and warmth. He will be remembered for his love of nature and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

May he rest in peace knowing that he was loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
