Allen Dougherty

Opelousas A memorial service will be held for Allen Dwain Dougherty at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Pastor David Faultz, from the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church, will conduct the service. Interment will take place in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Dougherty, age 75, a resident of Prairie Ronde, La., died on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, La.

Allen was a member of the Prairie Ronde Baptist Church. He retired from Baker Hughes as a fishing tool supervisor. Allen will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife, Norma Ann Vasseur Dougherty, of Prairie Ronde his sons, Kevin John Dougherty and wife, Elaine, of Port Allen Walter Dwain Dougherty and wife, Karen, of Conroe, Texas Michael Lynn Frame and wife, Lori, of Plaquemine his daughters, Lynn Vitale Mayeux and husband, Kelly, of Opelousas Melissa Frame Messina of Opelousas and his brother, Dale Dougherty of DeRidder. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Helen Slayton Dougherty his sister, Delores Dougherty and his soninlaw, Danny Messina.

Visiting will begin at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
