Alison Lafleur

Opelousas Memorial services for Mrs. Gary Fontenot, the former Alison Faith Lafleur, age 44, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Brother Perry Hubbs will conduct the funeral services.

After a four year battle with breast cancer, Alison died peacefully at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Fontenot who is a native of Opelousas touched many lives over the years and made countless friends during the many different cities and states in which she and husband Gary lived during the course of Garys Coast Guard career. She remained active in civic and church groups which included the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer group, and held a special place in her heart as the head of the Port Barre Baptist Church youth group.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Fontenot of Port Barre two sons Michael Craig Fontenot of Houston, TX and Zachary Zack Louis Fontenot of Port Barre daughter, Molly Shannon Fontenot of Port Barre parents, Verbis and Kathryn Lafleur of Port Barre two brothers, Paul Verbis Lafleur and wife Alece of Ragley, LA and Patrick Louis Lafleur and wife Hope of Gothenburg, Nebraska motherinlaw, Joy Soileau of Opelousas and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be observed in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 2:30 p.m. until service time at 6:30 p.m.
