Alice Walker

Opelousas - Funeral services for Alice C. Walker, age 81, will be held on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Rev. Nick Peters will conduct the services.

Mrs. Walker, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on August 15, 2008 at Opelousas General Health Systems.

Mrs. Walker spent her life dedicated to her husband, children and family.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Glenn Walker; her sons, Rusty Walker and his wife, Barbara, of Carencro, La.; Rodney Walker and his wife, Charlotte, of Sulphur, La.; Andy Walker and his wife, Sarah, of T-Mamou and Dane Walker and his wife, Evelina. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Thomas and Louise Shoemaker Clark and her brothers and sisters.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2008 until time of service.
