Alice Guillory

Funeral services for Mrs. Simon Guillory, the former Alice Ortego, will be held on Thursday, April 16th, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington at 10AM with the interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Albert Nunez will conduct the services.

Mrs. Guillory, age 91, passed away Monday, April 13th, 2009 at 11:13PM at Opelousas General Health System. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and also a devoted friend to all who knew her. She was also an avid gardener and was a member of Senior Companion group and the Garland Rosary Group.

Mrs. Guillory is survived by 4 sons; Eric Guillory of Garland, La., Nathan Guillory and his wife Beryl of Stafford VA, Wayne Guillory and his wife Norma of Lebeau, Dwight Guillory and his wife Debra of Arnaudville, 2 daughters; Norma Chick Soileau and her husband Aubrey of Garland and Charlene Johnson and her husband C.J. Buddy of Port Allen La. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Guillory; her parents Paul and Lelia Smith Ortego, a son Tommy Guillory, a daughter; Helen G. Lalonde Pitre; 2 son-in-laws, Carroll Lalonde and Rufus Pitre; 1 sister, 6 brothers and 1 granddaughter.

The family has requested that visitation be on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009 from 3PM to 9PM and will continue on Thursday, from 8AM until the time of service.
