Alice Bertrand

Opelousas Funeral services for Alice L. Bertrand, age 79, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Lafayette. The Reverend Danny Ortego,
Pastor of the Light House Christian Center will conduct the services.

Ms. Bertrand, who was a native of Washington and resident of Breaux Bridge, died on Friday, January 1, 2010 at a Breaux Bridge hospital.

Her hobbies included playing bingo at the Metro Bingo in Lafayette and sewing.

Survivors include five daughters, Jackie Eames and husband Robert of Lafayette, Pat Hutchinson of Breaux Bridge, Janet Hutchinson Gwynes and husband Larry of Centerville, TX, Brenda Hutchinson and Linda Hutchinson Hebert, both of Lafayette two sisters, Geraldine Ortego and husband Allen of Eunice and Nova Bertrand of Lafayette 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents Magnus and Elise Hebert Bertrand a son, James Jay Hutchinson, III two sisters, Wilda Thomas and Barbara Bertrand and a grandson Scott Smith.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Hutchinson, Johnny Miller, Phillip Smith, Joshua Faul, Dylan Judice, and Blaze Hutchinson.

Visitation will begin on Monday, January 4, 2010 in the LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, from 11:00 a.m.10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
