Albert Richard

A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert "Ba-Bah" Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Ken Domingue will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Richard, age 91, died on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Senior Village Nursing Home.

Albert, affectionately known as Ba-Bah served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the oilfield after a long and productive career. His leisure time was filled with family, hunting rabbits and working with his Beagles. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his step son Otis Richard, Jr. and wife Diane of Opelousas, LA; step daughter, Jane Guidroz and husband Gerald of Leonville, LA; brother, Roland Richard and wife Loretta of Opelousas, LA; sister, Nola Mouille of Denham Springs, LA; step grandchildren, Corey Guidroz, Jared Guidroz, Earnest "Bubba" Richard, Donald "Donnie" Comeaux, Jr., Dale Paul Zerangue, Bridget Stevens and husband Jimbo, Melinda Lavergne and husband Donald, Monica Barrett and husband Shannon and Shannon Richard.

He is preceded in death by his wife Thelma S. Richard; parents, Finley and Nina Richard; step sons, Joseph Floyd " Block" Richard and Dale Zerangue; step daughter, Myrna Chapman; brothers, James "Matoo" Richard, Charlie Richard, and Gervis Richard; sisters, Gladys Richard, Rita Allain, Nell Jordan, and Ester Fitzgerald; step grandson, Chad Comeaux.

Pallbearers will be Otis Richard, Jr, Corey Guidroz, Jared Guidroz, Earnest "Bubba" Richard, Donald "Donnie" Comeaux, Jr, and Gerald Guidroz, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Roland Richard.

Visiting will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
