Adley Stelly

Leonville Services for Adley Stelly, age 83, will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Leo the Great Church in Leonville, La, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Ken Domingue will conduct the services.

Mr. Stelly, a resident of Leonville, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 5:35 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Stelly was a farmer, he loved hunting and his dog Do-Do. He also loved his family and grandchildren. He also had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph Stelly and wife, Cecile, of Leonville; John Stelly and wife, Mary Ann, of Leonville; his daughters, Eula Mae Pitre and husband, Nolton Pitre, Jr., of Opelousas; Rita Marie Pitre and husband, Kenneth Ray Pitre, Sr. of Leonville; Irene Domec and husband, Ernest Domec, of Leonville; Ellen Richard and husband, Gary Richard, of Arnaudville. He is also survived by his sisters, Thelma Devilliers of Younsville and Velma Richard of Arnaudville. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stelly was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Marie Stelly; his parents, Saul and Eva Stelly; his brothers, Harry Stelly, Robert Stelly, Albert Stelly, Donia Diuie Stelly; and his sisters, Viola Guillory, Louise Sibille and Yula Stelly.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. open all night until time of service on Thursday. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kenny Pitre, Jr., Jason Domec, Blaine Stelly, Brent Domec, Daniel Carriere and Brandon Richard. Gift Bearers will be his great-granddaughters, Lindsey Soileau and Blaire Guidry. Readers will be his granddaughters-in-law, Jennifer Pitre and Jessica Domec. Music will be provided by Felecia Comeaux of Arnaudville.
