Mrs. Martin passed away March 25, 2020 at the age of 80. She was a resident of Melville and Heritage Manor Nursing Home after her crippling arthritis required constant care.

She is survived by her spouse of 60 years, Charles Martin (daddy) who was the love of her life. They shared a love like no other and have touched so many. She leaves her daughters, Debra Hebert (Dale) of Port Allen and Sheila Martin of Melville, son-in-law Kevin Williams (Laurie), grandchildren; Shannon Ray Banks (Brandon),Charles Carpenter (Holly), Caleb Williams (Krystina), Jeremy Martin, Abby Hebert, Andrea Brown and Elizabeth Martin, her great grandchildren; Miguel Brown, Deandre Williams, Sadie Williams, Shane Williams, Keely Campbell, Taylor Campbell and Ethan Banks, sisters Mary Meche, Laura Broussard, and Rosa Credeur, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She is now with her children that preceded her in death, Douglas Ray, Virgil Martin and Darlene Williams, parents Floyd Kibodeaux and Ada Richard, brother Arthur Kibodeaux, in laws Virgil and Clara Martin, several brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.

She will be remembered for her love of family, cooking, traveling, the beach, sewing, music and loving her dog Peanut. She was like a mother hen to all that knew her and always found time to help anyone in need and now she's an angel to watch over us.

Special thanks to Cheryl Daville and Andrea Brown that enabled her daily visits with her love.

The family would also like to thank the 5th floor staff and ICU staff at Opelousas General Hospital for caring for her in her last days and the staff and girls at Heritage Manor for the care they provided. Very special thanks to Doctor Patrick Gillespie who became close to her like family for the many years of care he provided.

Pallbearers will be Dale Hebert, Kevin Williams, Caleb Williams, and Arthur (Sonny) Brinson.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Jeremy Martin, the apple of her eye.

A memorial for Ada will be rescheduled at a later date to allow family, friends and the community to honor Ada in the way that she deserves.
