Services for Mrs. Ada C. Helton will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. on February 11th, 2009 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with the interment in St. Landry Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.
Mrs. Helton, age 105, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Sunday February 9, 2009 at 2:45AM at Senior Village Nursing Home in Opelousas.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great, great-great and great-great-great-grandmother, a homemaker and a great cook. She was a member of the Altar Society, Rosary Group and a Quilting club.
She is survived by 2 daughters-in-law; Patricia Helton of Opelousas and Kathleen Helton of Sulphur, La. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Dianne Bourque and her husband Homer of Port Barre, Lynn Cassidy and her husband Larry of Scott, Buddy Helton and his wife Pam of Opelousas, Dana Naquin and her husband John of Baton Rouge, Dirk Helton and his wife Malana of Grand Coteau, Chip Helton and his wife Dawn of Silsby, TX., Jeff Helton and his wife Susan of Sulphur La., Keith Helton and his wife Rhonda of Lake Charles and Harriette Covey and her husband Gary of Alaska,19 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Berton Helton, sons; James and Donald Helton, a grandson Jimmy Helton and her parents; Thomas Carroll and Sarah Norman Carroll and a daughter Audrey Mae Spillers and 2 great-grandchildren; Elaina and Will McBride.
The Pallbearers will be; Buddy Helton, Dirk Helton, Chip Helton, Jeff Helton, Keith Helton and Scott Helton.Her great-great grandchildren; Demi and Drue Bourque and Danielle LeBlanc will be the servers for the Mass.
The family has requested that visitation be held on Tuesday, February 10th, from 4:00PM to 10:00PM and will continue on Wednesday, from 8:00AM until the time of service. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00PM.
