Lawtell A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Aaron Stanford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be held in the church cemetery.

Mr. Stanford, age 77, a resident of Lawtell, La., died on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his residence.

Aaron served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his son, Gary Stanford and wife, Audrey, of Lucedale, Mississippi his daughter, Rebecca Becky Stanford Lavergne and husband, Dennis, of Lawtell, La. his brothers, Shirley Stanford of Opelousas, La. Elrick Stanford of Opelousas, La. and his sister, Ruth Stanford Chapman and husband, Robley, of Ville Platte, La. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth Silver Jackson, Sterling Silver, Jr., Andrew Silver, Shelby Stanford, Ryan Stanford and one greatgrandchild, Sarah Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vorice and Elina Thibodeaux Stanford and one infant grandson, Travis Lavergne.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
