Funeral services will be held for Rodney Bellard, on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rev. Monsignor Keith DeRouen will officiate service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Bellard, age 81, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died peacefully on February 8, 2018.

Rodney was a devoted employee of Bellard's Poultry for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends every Tuesday for 40 years. He loved helping others, fishing and especially spending time with his family. Rodney will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Geneva Arabie Bellard; his son, Michael Bellard; his daughters, Donna Bellard; Lisa Fisher and husband, Keith; his brothers, Ashton Bellard and wife, Charlene; LeRoy Bellard and wife, Bertha; Harry Bellard and wife Ruby; A.C. Bellard and wife, Joyce and Ronald Bellard and wife, Roma. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, John Fontenot, Christopher Fontenot, Valerie Marcel, Jeanie Bernard, Taylor Bellard, Devin Bellard and wife, Kaitlyn, Logan Guillory, Lainey Malagarie and husband, Nick and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lucille Leblanc Bellard and his brother, Calvin Bellard.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be John Fontenot, Chris Fontenot, Logan Guillory, Devin Bellard, Tim Bellard and Lee Arabie.
